Review:

I’ve been on a Grimm Brothers kick lately, and this quick read fit right into what I was looking for.  Funny, with some interesting characters, Chanda Hahn brings us a descendent of the Brothers Grimm who is just trying to fit in.  The most interesting thing about Mina Grime to me is how she senses that something is wrong and has the guts to confront her mother about her behavior.  The majority of teenaged girls I’ve known (including myself when I was a teenager) would not have asked simply due to being teenagers trying to talk to their parents about…..anything.  I was a bit bothered by Mina simply at first, but she grew on me as her confidence grew.  The action in the story kept me reading and was enough to take away from the excess fluff going on.  I enjoyed how Mina saved the day more often than anyone else and I thought Jared sounded like a very interesting character.  I look forward to seeing where this series heads.
