Alright, so I didn’t do this last year and I sort of wish that I had. but I wanted to make a list of things that I want to do this year that are BOOK related. I mean there are a few other things that I’m hoping to do but most of them are book related, so here we goes!
Write 2 books. Edit 1.
I’ve been trying for two years now to write a book and I have been sadly most unsuccessful… This stems from a lack of being able to stay on topic for more than five seconds on my part as well as having a habit of collecting ideas for stories and then starting the ideas and once again getting distracted. Also that work thing gets in the way at times. #imnotdistractedatall
Finish current review books before accepting more.
I’m really bad at saying no, and half the time I just don’t respond to the emails I get (unprofessional, I’m very sorry for being terrible) and due to this I have a stack of almost 70 books that I need to review and that is just unacceptable and makes me unhappy and I want to curl up in a corner while the review monster attacks me and my imaginary cats.
Read 125 books.
I think this could really help with that whole review monster…it’s scaring me quite a lot! I also read 98 books last year so I’m secretly hoping to get up in the mid 100s.
Read more diverse books.
I’ve been hooked on some feel good non-unique books lately and I want to get out of my slump and read some books that aren’t what I usually find. Again, the review monster may just help with that!
Go on two trips.
This isn’t book related but I want to travel more and I went out to California for the first time in 2016 and I LOVED it so now I wanna take two more trips this year! Any suggestions/who can I visit because I’m broke and need more friends?
Get closer to being self-employed.
I always end up with some issues when I’m employed by others and I’d like to be able to do what I want and have the motivation to do something I truly love. I’m working on some options but it’ll take a while and we shall see what happens this year, but hopefully I can at least get closer?
Be more Artsy.
I’d like to open a Society6 store or something of the sort, but I need to save up and buy the tools I need in order to et my digital drawing up to where I want it to be. So, before opening the story, more art on the blog done by me would be something.
Get 150 followers on blog.
I’m not the best at gaining followers and I’m not really sure how to change that, so I’m hopefully going to be able to work more on my publicity (?) and getting more followers and generally more interest. I can be a bit selfish!
This has been a huge thing this past year that I have majorly failed at. I did better than previously but I still wasn’t very consistent in putting up reviews and posting in general, so I’m hoping to make this a habit and get better at being regular.
I’m sure there are others but for now we will stick with that!
